About Me

I live in Utah with my husband and two children. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, and skiing. My brother taught me to read at two years old and I never stopped.

I have wanted to be an author since I was eight years old when my brother first told me that it was possible to be a writer. I knew then it was exactly what I wanted to do. At the time, I believed I was going to be the next Stephen King and began writing a horror novel about a sea monster.  The book was handwritten in pencil and I kept it in a zip-up binder for protection. Unfortunately, the binder did not protect it from a spilled cup of coffee and the story was lost.

In 2003, I began to write poetry, and put it online for peers to review. All of those original poems are still on that website and can still be read for anyone who's willing to find them. It was this collection of poems I self-published in 2008 not realizing at the time that no one actually buys books of poetry. It didn't matter to me though, it was still a step in the right direction. I learned a lot from the process that I can use moving forward.

I began writing a novel in August of 2021 and spent a little over a year writing and editing before I began the process of submitting the manuscript for publication. I am thrilled to report that I have signed a contract with a publishing company, making the dreams of an eight-year-old child finally come true.
